I have been following your father Rick for the last say 5 years, regularily and weekly (if not almost daily), for his informative material, his very pleasent personality, many more things and mostly for his wisdom - which you have inherited for sure. I have been following you together with your father for some years now in the Youtube recordings you do together. I always look forward to receiving the link via email.
A big word of GRATITUDE for making this available to us all (I live in Germany) and also free of charge. My means are a little limited but my enthusiasm, my intrinsic motivation is very strong. I have grown, I have done a lot of healing and the journey goes on. Thank you for helping me with all this. Your contribution to my growth and personal development is priceless - so very valuable.
Thank you again for the above post - so very inspiring. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Forrest--Hi! I greatly enjoyed your inaugural post (yay for overcoming the inertia!) and look forward to seeing more from you here on Substack. I, for one, like the long form. . . .
One request: For any videos you may post in the future, would you please, please make sure that they include closed captioning, as you do with the Being Well podcasts? Or, if that is not possible, provide a transcript? Or both?? As someone who presently relies on cc'ing to access video content, it can be very disheartening when a video I want to view is not captioned and I'm shut out. Thanks so much and Happy New Year!
Thank you for this beautiful and synchronistic email. I am currently travelling in Sri Lanka and then to India - exploring my outer landscapes as a means to get to better grips with my internal dynamics. This morning I woke to writing a piece on equanimity and harmony and, yes, homeostasis ... perhaps it's the collective 2024 vibes. Your email affirmed where I find myself and has helped me reframe where I'm at emotionally - not any easier but perhaps easier to deepen into.
I did your dad's Neurodhamma course during lockdown and I follow both of you as I love to see the interactions between you two wise souls :) With gratitude and blessings 🙏🏼 Penelope
Hi Forrest! I've been a fan of your dad's for years and eagerly became an early listener of Being Well. I have become a fan of yours over these last few years so I joined your Substack right away. I unfortunately do not have the funds to be a paying subscriber to everything I love--I rotate my subscriptions. So I appreciate this chance to say thank you for all that you do to put good into the world for everyone, even those who can't pay but wish they could. I am dealing with life changes resulting from a gray divorce, so getting out of the tepid bathwater resonates here!
Good morning Forrest. This was written for me today! I recently retired (early) from a stressful corporate job and now I find myself trying to find meaning. And trying to get out of the bath. Like the other comment I support you through Patreon but also wonder how to best support you.
Thank you for your work. I appreciate you and your dad so much.
Great post, Forrest! Hits me between the eyes. And Rhonda's post here also ties in with me. I retired early and have made some bold moves, but I also find myself often in a lukewarm bath that I'd like to get out of a lot of the time. This gives me some kind of foothold to do so. I will also check in on your podcast episodes related to all of this, but need to be careful of analysis paralysis :)
Hi Forrest! I’ve supported your work on Patreon for a couple of years, because I really enjoy your podcast, which means I already have access to your transcripts and to the wonderful expanded notes you seem to have stopped writing recently. I believe in supporting excellent content by creators, and I’m wondering how best to continue supporting your work.
Hey JGB, as my podcast-related work increased the expanded notes just became unsustainable for me. I also didn't get a lot of feedback related to them (this post already has more comments than any edition of the notes I've ever done), so it started to feel like there was a pretty big gap between the level of interest in them and the effort I was expending.
If you liked the expanded notes in the past, this is going to be the place to find similar work in the future. Hopefully people find the article style a more accessible way in.
Forrest, I have been investing time and energy into your podcast since its inception. It has been an incredible accompaniment to me as I move through my mid-life. I am thankful for you, your content, your vulnerability, and your voice. Keep going! You make a difference!
Hi. I see things in pictures. You Tube helps me a lot. Following printed directions is hard for me bc I can’t visualize it. That is what keeps me pursuing things I want to do
I always think about listening to your podcast but don’t. At this moment I prefer to read the written word so I look forward to that. I echo the need for subtitles. I thank you and your father and all related material for helping me through Covid time. I look forward to whatever this becomes
YES, Forrest! Right on! I needed to hear this. Two years ago, but moreso now. Thank you. Just my two pennies: Keep it like you just did it! A short lesson you learned (with or without dad, but we all of course love dad! Now I keep hearing "you're in a lukwarm bath" in my head haha), and then expound a bit. You rock Forrest, appreciate your sensitive soul. Keep on going!
Congratulations, Forrest, on doing what you intended to do even if not on the timeline that lived in your “ideal” world. You had the email list---so what...the timing wasn’t right, you’d didn’t do it--let that go! Recognize what you did do, focus on the next step and continue forward with all the gifts you continue to give to the world: your voice, your words, your thoughts, your mind, your YOU. I have benefited from the beautiful conversations you have with your dad on Being Well, and I look forward to your further expressions of yourself on Substack. Thank you and all best!

First, thanks for your newsletter. I wish you celebrated that you wrote and sent it ("Happy New Year, everyone! This is Forrest and I finally wrote a newsletter. Let me know what you think!") instead of beating yourself up for not sending anything for two years. We cannot change what happened or didn't happen. Besides, you have been producing excellent podcasts that I look forward to every Monday. Keep doing what you've been good at. You are awesome!
Thanks Forrest, you and your dad Rick inspire me to keep my hand to plow, rest, then plow a little more. As a matter of fact, your father is in my top ten along with Frankl, Jung, Merton etc. The meditations are especially helpful. Gratitude and blessings to you both.

Thanks for letting me know, I'll look into doing that with my shorter form videos consistently.
That would be wonderful. Thank you so much!
I always enjoy your podcast. Thanks for sharing this honest reflection!

Hey JB, thank you. My plan is for 90%+ of the content here to be free.

Thanks for your reply! I agree - the article style might be more accessible. Looking forward to reading your posts and of course, to your podcasts!

I love your work, your interviews, you relationship with your dad, your honesty, your questioning,....it's a pleasure to "know" you...Barbra
